PRESS RELEASE: Marcus Brand Update
As promised, I will explain the three points made in my earlier January press release.
I stated that, “I will bring representative government, honesty, and respect back to the office of Commissioner Precinct 2”.
I believe that representative government is of the utmost importance to the people of Liberty County. Many Americans have given their lives for this. Seems today, elected officials believe they are placed in office to do as they please and push their own agendas. In reality, they are placed in office to represent the citizens and convey their concerns. Let’s get back to this process.
I will bring honesty to the office of Commissioner Precinct 2. I will have an open door policy for the citizens of this precinct/county and also keep the media informed on the issues that affect Liberty County. I will hide nothing. There will not be any “good old boy” deals in my office.
I will bring respect to the office. I will be a public servant bringing dignity and respect not only to the office of Commissioner, but to the people in Precinct 2 of Liberty County. I will never forget the taxpayers pay my salary.
I believe in giving back to the community. I served my country in the U.S. Army Reserves, and would be honored to serve Liberty County as Commissioner Precinct 2.
Sincerely,
Marcus Brand

ANAHUAC, TEXAS: Resignation of Dana O. Evans- AMDD
January 19, 2010
To: Mayor Guy Robert Jackson
City Secretary Nancy Hempel
(addressed per AMDD By-laws)
Dear Mayor Jackson and Ms. Hempel,
Please accept this letter as my immediate resignation from the Anahuac Municipal Development District. I feel as though my leaving will be the best decision for the District so that they may move forward. Currently there is an obvious animosity between myself and City staff, as well as some elected officials, which is preventing the cooperation that the District requires. As Chairman of the District, I have made requests of the City that have been ignored. Any actions that I have taken have been in the best interest of the District and the tax payers dollars. There has been nothing easy about chairing the AMDD since its beginning. It has been an uphill battle the entire way beginning with Guy Robert Jackson not getting the Chair position that he so desperately wanted. I believe that he has resented me from the start which has resulted in my constant head butting with him regarding what was best for the district. It is no secret that I have been outspoken on many issues that involve the City and tax payer dollars. In my opinion, it is that outspokenness that resulted in the AMDD being treated like a step-child. The District was created in 2008 by a (narrow) majority vote of the people. We have now entered 2010 and what have we accomplished? Nothing but a very tumultuous attempt at a harbor project. I had hoped to see the Park Project (finger piers) through to its fruition and revel in the fact that I was a part of that project, but I must step away for the betterment of the District. I hope with my departure the District will thrive and become something to be proud of. Currently, the District is doing nothing but running in place, not going anywhere. The District is capable of great things with the right leadership and cooperation from the City and its elected officials. I sincerely wish the best for the AMDD and its members. Thank you for this opportunity that I have experienced over the last year and a half.
Regards,
Dana O. Evans

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Was A Republican
During the civil rights era of the 1960's, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. fought to stop Democrats from denying civil rights to blacks. It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican as has been affirmed by his niece, Dr. Alveda C. King.Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would not have joined the Democratic Party, the party of the Ku Klux Klan and segregation.
Dr. King fought against Democrat Public Safety Commissioner Eugene "Bull" Connor in Birmingham who let loose vicious dogs and turned skin-burning fire hoses on black civil rights demonstrators.
Democrat Georgia Governor Lester Maddox famously brandished ax handles to prevent blacks from patronizing his restaurant. Democrat Alabama Governor George Wallace blocked the entrance of two black students at the University of Alabama in 1963 and thundered, "Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever”. All of these racist Democrats remained Democrats until the day they died. In fact, racist Democrats declared that they would rather vote for a “yellow dog” than a Republican because the Republican Party was know as the party for blacks.

The Same Old Tired Liberal Message
During his Presidential tribute, at a church, Barack Obama could not help but to tie the Health Care Debate into his presentation.
President Obama also compared the plight of the American economy to the struggle that Martin Luther King led in his quest to bring about change in the area of race equalization. President Obama set out to reiterate his liberal agenda by saying that all should join in individual suffering for the betterment of the whole.
This came across to me as the continued message by the extreme-leftist liberals that the only way to bring about economic change in our country is to allow the government to tax people at whatever rate necessary to equalize and redistribute wealth; all of this at the discretion of the Democrat Majority Government.
I am elated every time that President Obama preaches this message because it paints the real picture of his agenda and why the Democrat Controlled Congress is pressing so hard to pass the unwanted and un-popular Health Care Law.
It demonstrates the difference between the Liberal/Socialist beliefs and those of the free-thinking freedom-seeking Conservative mind-set that includes a large percentage of the American people.
The craziness of the Liberal/Socialist is that they preach a message of tolerance but do not want to include thought processes and opinions of people who do not fully agree with their message of fundamental constitutional governmental change.
Why do they hide in the backrooms of Congress when making deals and imposing Health Care Laws on the American people? Why do they guard the door to transparency?

Zbranek, Hight and Wisegerber Trilogy

Democrat Agenda Picture
Recently, questions have been swirling around Liberty County concerning allegations of a conspiracy to surreptitiously take over the courthouse. Multiple people who are interrelated are alleged to crave the power of complete control over the courts and money in Liberty County.
The players in this alleged conspiracy are- Zack Zbranek(D), who is running for Liberty County Court at Law- against opponent, Tommy Chambers(R). Then there is incumbent, Carol "Rusty" Hight(D) of the 75th District Court- opponent, Mark Morefield(R). Lastly, there is Lester Wisegerber(?), Liberty County Republican Chairman- opponent, Andy McCreight(R).
The trilogy of Zbranek, Hight and Wisegerber appears to be making a desperate power grab for total control of Liberty County. In addition to this alleged power grab, Commissioner Candidate Norman Brown is linked strongly to Wisegerber's goals of Liberty County domination through commissioner's court. These three are all related through either blood or marriage. Voters, along with practicing local attorneys, know what types of games these three and their ilk have played on their political opposites and enemies. Does Liberty County and the local legal community really want a system exceedingly corrupt and the polar opposite of fair and impartial jurisprudence?
People should look at the continued corrupt actions interrelated to these characters and ask themselves... Are these the type of people we want deciding the future of our children and community?
The coming election will be the most important election for Liberty County in over 100 years. We are being given the chance to bring Liberty County into the 21st Century and to shed the curse of corruption which has stained Liberty County for so long. Many have worked hard for this opportunity. What will you do?
