Sexually violent predator sentenced to life in prison

Jurors in the 435th District Court of Montgomery County, Texas, found Michael Wayne Bohannan, 56, guilty of the felony offense of violation of civil commitment as a sexually violent predator, and sentenced him to life in prison on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Sitting for the 435th Court, 221st District Court Judge Lisa Michalk heard the case. Trial testimony showed that Bohannan was found to be a sexually violent predator by a Montgomery County jury, Judge Michael T. Seiler presiding, in January 2009, and was civilly committed to a halfway house in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Liberty County Constable Indicted


Liberty County Constable Tim Allison has been indicted in Harris County for "Official Oppression".  Apparently according to reports Allison went to Houston to help someone get a vehicle out of impound. Allegedly, in the course of events he arrested, handcuffed and put an individual into his Liberty County patrol car when they would not release the impounded vehicle without payment.

Tim Allison was a recent Democrat who migrated to the Republican Party for his 2012 re-election bid.

Constable Allison denies the charges and any wrongdoing.

TRUCK DRIVER DOA

At approximately 12:33pm this date, the Liberty County Sheriff's Department responded to a call at the Fitzpac Grocery parking lot located at Hwy. 105 and Hwy. 146 in mid-Liberty County regarding a truck driver who was found slumped over the steering wheel of the "box truck" he was driving.

Sgt. Investigator Brian Bortz talked to the witness who found the driver and attempted to assist him by stepping up into the truck which was still running and in gear. Medical assistance was summoned to the scene but the truck driver was deceased upon their arrival.

Very preliminary investigation indicates the driver may have had existing medical issues as items of a medical nature were found in the cab of the truck. At this early stage of the investigation, it appears the driver passed away from natural causes. The Sheriff's Department is continuing the investigation at this time. No name is being released pending notification of the family.

Town Hall Meeting in Liberty County


Congressman Steve Stockman will be in Liberty County for a Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 7:00 P.M., at the Liberty Civic Center in the City of Liberty complex (across from the Liberty County Courthouse.)  The general public is invited.  Parking for the Liberty Civic Center is accessible from Milam Street between Sam Houston and Trinity Avenues.

“Traveling Pastor” Indicted on Child Sexual Assault Charges

A “traveling pastor” based out of Austin, Texas has been arrested on child sexual assault charges, according to sources. Pastor Javier, aka Francisco Antonio Hernandez, was arrested in October after four female victims came forward.

Hernandez, 53, is facing aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child charges. Hernandez began traveling to Austin-area homes starting in the 1960’s and hold nondenominational religious services. It was not discovered until this year that he has been possibly assaulting many children over the years.

The first victim to come forward claimed she was assaulted in 1998, and Hernandez paid her $20 to keep quiet and also threatened to harm her. The victim told her mother, who wanted to go to the police. Hernandez allegedly asked her for forgiveness.
